Abstract

While scholars have attempted to glean a mission idea from Isaiah through the study of some concepts of Israel’s relation with
other nations, Isaiah presents to the people living in imperial contexts a theological interpretation of the situation in the light of God’s love for all humanity and His work in bringing them into His fold. This article discusses the aspects or scope of mission in the Book of Isaiah. It serves as a guideline for young people, particularly students in their quest to engage in missionary endeavors. In the present context of the world where God’s people, the church and its members often pose with a significant hindrance to the cross-cultural, national, and global dimension of mission, a rekindling of the aspects of mission in the Book of Isaiah in our current missionary endeavor possibly will help a better understanding and practice of God’s mission to humanity.
