“Untrained Teachers: Challenges Faced by Unqualified Teachers in Pacific Island Classrooms”
Abstract
This article argues that remote and underserved communities in the Pacific Islands recognise that unqualified teachers play an important role in sustaining access to education in their various classrooms. Therefore, upgrading teachers’ qualifications is vital in achieving the inclusivity and quality education, thereby helping the Pacific region experience quality ‘education for all’ with interventions, strong policy frameworks, and genuine investment in teacher development.
